Abbey Otte
Ballet Instructor Abbey has been dancing since the age of two and has trained in many dance styles including ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, and musical theater. Through her youth, she traveled and competed nationally with Straub Dance Center in Westerville, Ohio. At the age of fourteen, Abbey decided to pursue her passion for ballet, and joined New Albany Ballet Company. There she performed in various ballets and new contemporary works including a role as Clara in the Nutcracker. At the age of seventeen, Abbey was offered a Trainee contract with Charlotte Ballet. There she trained under Laszlo Berdo, Kati Hanlon Mayo, and Patricia McBride. While at Charlotte Ballet, she had the privilege to perform in Jean- Pierre Bonnefoux’s The Nutcracker, lb Anderson’s Swan Lake, and Naimah Kisoki’s Endeavor to the Edge. Also while in Charlotte, Abbey discovered her love for mentoring through teaching at a local studio, Dance Davidson, in Davidson, NC. Abbey is currently a Trainee at BalletMet and is studying under Maria Torjia, Carrie West-Suslov, Dmitri Suslov, and Traci Gilchrest Kubie. While at BalletMet, her performances include Gerard Charles’ The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, and George Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15. Abbey is excited to join the Revolution Dance family and cannot wait to share her love of dance with the students of RDC. |
