"The Nutcracker 2025" will be held at 1pm and 4pm on Saturday, December 20th. Cowan Hall, Otterbein University 30 South Grove Street, Westerville, OH 43081
The Story
, The Nutcracker takes place on Christmas Eve at the Stahlbaum's residence where an evening of holiday festivities are afoot. Sisters, Clara and Maria, dance with their friends and enjoy magical gifts brought to them by their mother. The Ballerina Doll and two dancing Solider Dolls entertain the children before the party comes to an end. Clara receives her first nutcracker who resembles a Sugar Plum Fairy. The Stahlbaum's and their guests dance the night away and retire to their respective homes. Clara goes to bed but soon awakes to check on her nutcracker when she is suddenly greeted by a herd of mice. The Sugar Plum Fairy appears with a battalion of soldiers to defend Clara from the mice and their Mouse Queen. They fight fiercely until the Mouse Queen is banished by the Sugar Plum Fairy. After the battle, Clara is brought to the magical snowy forest where the Snow Queen and her snowflakes dance for her. After the snow falls, the Sugar Plum Fairy shows Clara her magical land of the sweets where they are greeted by the Dew Drop Fairy and her dancing flowers along the Sugar Plum's favorite dancing treats like Tea, Chocolate, Candy Canes, Marzipan and Coffee. Each magical treat delights Clara with a dance before they bid her adieu. Clara then awakes from the most magical Christmas dream.
