Vanessa Rutherford
Director of Preteen/Junior/Mini/Tiny Tot Company Teams Company Instructor Vanessa brings over 30 years of dance experience and 24 years of teaching and choreographing to Revolution Dance. A long-standing and beloved member of the RDC faculty, she is known for her ability to connect with dancers of all ages while building both strong technique and confidence in the classroom. She teaches jazz, lyrical, and contemporary for dancers ages 2–14 and holds a degree in Early Childhood Development from The Ohio State University, a background that strongly influences her thoughtful, age-appropriate approach to teaching young dancers. Her training includes Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and Gus Giordano Dance School, with study under renowned choreographers including Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels, and Nick Bass. As a competitive dancer, Vanessa earned the title of Miss Petite Dance of Ohio and performed in nationally award-winning routines. As a choreographer, Vanessa has created numerous national champion routines, with recent recognition at Rising Star, Rainbow, and Nexstar. She is passionate about helping dancers grow not only as performers, but as confident, hardworking individuals who believe in themselves. A special part of her RDC story: Vanessa was also Halie’s very first dance teacher, making their continued work together a full-circle part of Revolution’s legacy. |
